THUNDER VALLEY
The Civil War tore a great nation apart. It turned state against state, brother against brother.
In its aftermath the North crushed the South. Human vultures called carpetbaggers swooped down and picked the helpless Southerners clean.
A few Sons of the South refused to bend their knee to the invaders. Unreconstructed Rebs met Northern arrogance and greed with hot lead and a fierce will.
They were few against many, and one by one they fell.
Twenty years later, hardly anyone gave them any thought.
Then Thunder Valley erupted in bloodshed. People were brutally murdered. Vested interests wanted the land and would do anything to acquire it. Hired killers were brought in.
It was either leave, or die.
One man stood firm. Roy Sether refused to give up this side of the grave. He had a family and a farm, and he would be damned if he would let anyone run them off.
His plight was hopeless.
Enter Rondo James, the last of the unreconstructed Rebs. He’d lost everything he ever cared about. All he had in this world were his Palomino and his pearl-handled pistols.
He wanted nothing to do with the rest of the world---until a friendly farmer put him up while his horse healed.
A simple act of kindness that brought outsider and outcast together against the injustice of the powerful lording it over the poor and the downtrodden.
There would be a reckoning.
